Life since 2000? Early retirement on the occasion of my first hip replacement, move to France and second hip replacement. For seven years I was spoilt by Chris doing all the shopping and cooking, leaving me to take up the cello again, sing in the choir, take too many photos, and make two trips to India and one to New Zealand.
Since Chris died I have had to cater for myself, but don’t enjoy it. I also have nobody to stop me spending too much on the latest gadget (iphone, iPad and electric trike).
My health problems are an irritating constraint: replacement of both shoulders and one hip, as well as cancer, have dominated the last four years.
I’m very aware of how much I’m blessed by the joy of the four grandchildren, and sad that Chris is not there to share it.
